ABOUT  Ms. ELAINE

Originally from New Jersey, Ms. Wisniewski has been taken all over the country through her music adventures. An active educator for over two decades, she has taught at The Wyoming Fine Arts Center, Cincinnati Music Academy, Edwardsville, IL Suzuki, and Montclair State University Preparatory Center for the Arts. 


Ms. Wisniewski graduated from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 2016 with a Masters in Suzuki Pedagogy. She also holds a Masters in Viola Performance from Rutgers University where she studied with Craig Mumm, Former Associate Principal Violist of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. Elaine completed her Bachelor of Music Education degree at Montclair State University where she was also president of the American String Teachers Association chapter. 


Elaine Wisniewski has performed with the Garden State Opera, the Tim Keyes Consort, the Freelance Ensemble Artists of New Jersey, the Livingston Symphony Orchestra, the Metropolitan Orchestra of St. Louis, and currently plays for the Butler Philharmonic Orchestra (https://www.butlerphil.org) and leads the viola section in the 7Hills Symphony (https://7hillssymphony.org). 


During the summers Elaine has participated in Stokes Forest Music Camp, ASTA’s Chamber Music Institute, and Meadowmount School of Music. She has performed for Patricia McCarty, Jeffrey Irvine, Sheila Brown, Karen Ritscher, Chris Tantillo, and the Shanghai Quartet in masterclasses. Elaine has taught multiple summer camps at the Wyoming Fine Arts Center and Cincinnati Music Village (https://www.cincinnatimusicvillage.com) including String Fling and Chamber Music Workshop.  


In 2015 she attended a Violin Craftsmanship Institute where she learned to repair instruments and rehair bows. She moved to Cincinnati in 2016 to teach Suzuki lessons at the Wyoming Fine Arts Center and recently opened a studio out of her house in Fairfield.


In her spare time Elaine enjoys jigsaw puzzles, true crime, NFL (Who Dey!) and going on walks with her dog Patrick!
